The new Glass-Vu loading system from Novatec, Inc., Baltimore, includes cylindrical loaders, receivers, and machine-mount hoppers that have large, wrap-around glass midsections to give a clear view of the loading process and aid in setup. Users can see what is happening and don't have to depend on No-Load alarms.
Straight walls of the loaders and receivers extend all the way down to the discharge area, with no cone-shaped narrowing to cause agglomeration or bridging. Loaders and receivers also have slanted lids that reportedly allow a larger than usual access opening to the interior without disturbing resin or vacuum lines. Slanted bottom panels function as pneumatically actuated slide-gate valves for discharging material. Construction is stainless steel and 5-mm-thick borosilicate glass.
